About the event
Welcome to SheShreds Bike School application for the Spring Session (April 22 - July 8th, 2025)Â
Our Welcome Week is April 15th at Revolution Cycle- Sherwood Park
First event of the ride is April 22nd and goes weekly until July 8th, 2025.
Locations span from Terwillegar to Kinsmen to Goldbar, exploring the entire Edmonton river valley (and beyond - Devon and the Sherwood Park Bike park are also in the mix!) so a consistent form of transportation is required. We vary our terrain from pump tracks, wood bridges, dirt trails, gravel grinds and dirt jumps, therefore hybrid or road bikes are not acceptable and a mountain bike is required (ridgid, hardtails and dual suspension mountain bikes are all fine). Instructors with specific mountain bike certification lead three ability groups (Beginners, Begintermediate, Intermediate) every week. Throughout the program, classes build upon one another, so consistent attendance is encouraged.Â

Beginner Level (Spring)
Riders who are new to ‘single-track’ mountain biking and are looking to build confidence and techniques focusing on balance, gearing, braking and foundational skills. Comfortable riding gravel paths/sidewalks/asphalt paths/firm, wider dirt trails. These riders are more intimidated when it comes to riding over roots & small logs, unknown trails and descending. (Beginner/Ninja group rides spend more time building skills, but still makes time for a fun ride.)Â

Begintermediate Level (Spring)
Riders are building their skills but confidence wanes when on more challenging trails with technical features like steep descents, wood features and rooty climbs. Sometimes shifting and braking can be challenging. This group spends more time sessioning. This group focuses on developing technical skills and applying the right skill at the right time. No one is left behind and we stay on green and blue trails, progressing through more technical trails.

Intermediate Level (Spring)
Riders love single-track riding and have a good foundation of skills. They are comfortable a bit more on challenging trails and descents with a bit more endurance. These riders are looking to finesse their skills by developing cornering, descending and technical climbing through re-focusing on body position and other foundational skills. This group rides at a faster pace, with seasoning, while still focusing on applying and fine tuning established technical skills.
